Eryk's path to sustainability
There are certain areas that we recently think more about - one of them is being sustainable.
According to UN definition, sustainability consists in fulfilling the needs of current generations without compromising the needs of future generations. It is made up of three pillars: the economy, society, and environment. Today you also talk about it as the triple bottom line: Profit, People & Planet.
We want to show you how we combine these perspectives of sustainability at Eryk. 😊

NBTE Partnership

Next big milestone in the Apprenticeship Program
 
Eryk officially gained an important partner in Nigeria: NBTE – The National Board for Technical Education. It is a big milestone on our journey to  creating sustainable jobs in Africa under Eryk's Apprenticeship Program 👏💪☺ 
 
The ceremony took place in Abuja (Nigeria) on the 29th of March and gathered representatives from 3 Nigerian Ministries:
🔹Education,
🔹Labour & Employment, and
🔹Foreign Affairs.
 
What does that mean? 🤔 
Top graduates from technical schools across Nigeria will be selected through a highly competitive and vetted program to qualify for training according to EU standards. After completion of the program, they will become electricians with certificates and experience recognized around the world.

Meet our new apprentices

Welcome to the cold Europe!
At the beginning of February, 5 new colleagues from Nigeria arrived in Europe. From a whopping 26.9°C down to a measly 5°C  - Europe was rather chilly in its reception, but we, at Eryk, made sure to give our new colleagues a super-warm welcome. 
Augustina, Innocent, Uduma, Adebisi and John take part in our Apprenticeship Program - a part of Eryk's vision of creating sustainable jobs in Africa.
During their first week here, they took part in our internal training and onboarding process. Now you can meet them at some of our projects.

Energy & Renewables

Sectors of great importance
 
It turns out that around 15% of our turnover in 2022 came from the projects related to energy generation, distribution and renewables, including:
  • Wind Power industry
  • Biogas plants
  • District heating plants and more
This observation led us to a decision to revise our business categories to better reflect the nature of our activity and scope of services. Today, the three pillars of our operations are Industry & Automation, Building Installations and Energy & Renewables.

Planting our own little forest 🌱🌲💚

Getting ready for Earth Day (22.04)
 
A little forest of approx. 5000 seedlings 🌱 was planted recently in the vicinity of Szczecin, PL.

Eryk's nature lovers team and their families met on Saturday morning, end of March, in Tanowo near Szczecin to take part in this green project. We feel very satisfied and hope to see the trees thrive... 🌲🌲🌲

The event was co-organised with the local forest inspectorate in Trzebiez, PL.
